Are you expected to tip for a spa gift package?

For my birthday, I got a gift card package with a facial, massage, and salt scrub at an expensive spa here in NY. I've heard that the tip is usually included in the purchase price of gift packages…it would add up to almost a hundred dollars if i were to tip myself, that seems weird for something that's supposed to be a gift. But I would **** to leave someone without their tip. So am I expected to tip the attendants or is it covered in the package price?
