What is a safe way to treat and get rid of a blackhead at home? Can't afford a nice spa/facialist?

I should have clarified – I do wash my face with warm water and a good cleanser everyday, and it's still there. It won't squeeze out and the strips do nothing. Argh! Was hoping there was some sort of great home remedy besides the daily wash….
